# Taiki API Overview
Welcome to Taiki!
**What is Taiki?**
Taiki is the streamlined API solution for retrieving tax documents directly from user accounts. Simplify tax filing, accelerate onboarding, or power insightful financial analysis with Taiki's secure data.
Taiki handles the complexities of authentication, document retrieval, and normalization across various financial institutions. Focus on building robust features for your users, while Taiki takes care of the data integrations.
Taiki provides an [app clip](https://developer.apple.com/app-clips/) for IOS and an [instant app](https://developer.android.com/topic/google-play-instant) for Android that allows the users to use the Taiki app without installing anything!
**Taiki Flow Overview**
1. **Generate Taiki JWT Token:** Request a short-lived JWT token from [Initialize JWT Token](/docs/detailed-references/initialize-jwt-token.md) to initiate secure authentication flows.
2. **Open Taiki Link:** Utilizing the JWT token, [Invoke the Taiki App](/docs/detailed-references/invoke-the-taiki-app.md) for users to connect and retrieve documents from their bank/brokerage/payroll accounts.
3. **Retrieve Data:** Taiki servers will ping the webhook you provided to send retrieved files to your servers.
